Carolina Cameron's
Cockatrice Danes
Registered with the Canadian Kennel Club since 1982

I presently live in Scarborough but have spent the larger part of my life in the country. I was raised on a farm in the Markham area in the 40's when that was still country. We had the whole encyclopedia of animals--chickens, ducks, geese, pigs, horses, cats galore, and dogs.
In the 70's I was involved in breeding and training thoroughbred horses under the Geann Farm name. At that time I was into German Shepherds and thought they were the epitome of dogs. When I sold the farm and moved to Kleinburg I had my old shepherd male Mark but I was missing my animals. I saw a sign up the road from me - Great Dane pups for sale - not registered.  Went to visit fell in love with and bought a pup.

JunoThat was in 1979.  When "Moose' was killed in a freak accident, a friend gave me a show harlequin female - Yahoo's Juno. She became the foundation bitch of my breeding program, and her breeder Jackie Yundt became my mentor.

She gave my son Greg a black female, Yahoo's Molly Maguire, and I got a Fawn female, Cleo. I went from having no puppies to having three within a couple of months.

That was the beginning of my involvement in the world of show dogs. I had a lot of success in the show ring. Originally because I was fortunate in the dogs I bought and later because I was able to breed some good dogs.

BIS.Am.Can.Ch. Yahoos Royal Tattoo, whom I purchased, was #2 Dane in Canada in 1986.  He became one of my foundation sires and his son, Am.Can.Ch.Cockatrice's Ghengis Khan went on to become #3 Dane in Canada in 1992.
